1 Lamp 3 Ways

When you find something you love, particularly with interior products, it’s hard not to re-use them… so we did, three separate times. A current trend is incorporating large stone lamp bases, and we love them! Utilising this lamp base in three different zones across two projects gave it a new lease on life in each space and we are going to walk you through how it all came together.

1

In the entryway of our Fresh Federation House, this large stone lamp base is accompanied by a plain white linen shade, which helped warm up the space. Being a vastly white interior, the grey tone helped to anchor this space and the size worked perfectly on this chest of drawers. Handy tip - add a self timer to the plug of your entryway lamp and set it for late afternoon. This adds the ‘Welcome Home’ experience when you walk through the front door.

Again in our Fresh Federation House we used the same large lamp base and this time paired with it a detailed shade. We had the base painted white with a stone textured finish to create a point of difference. This accentuated the detailed shade and created a light and bright pop against the black buffet unit in the formal dining room. Lastly, we used these beautiful lamps on the bedside tables of our Grove House project. I am not going to lie, they seemed too big at first, however once the room was dressed it all came together beautifully. Go big or go home, right! We do want to note that there is a risk of going too big with lamps for the bedside table. To avoid this it’s all about the actual bedside table itself. It has to be large enough to hold the lamp and leave room for any other elements required. You don't want them to be too overpowering in the space and keep in mind that they still need to function as task-lights as well. Measure twice and buy once is a motto you soon come to live by as a Designer.
