Lior - My Light!
It all started with our first born son Ezra (now 22 months old), who became known as the light of our lives. The word Lior means My Light, so we gravitated towards this name for many reasons, but this one standing out to us the most. Children have a way of bringing a joyful light into the world.
How this translates to Interior Design is all about leaving part of my light in each and every Lior Interiors project.
A few months after having my son I made the decision not to return to a well loved Senior Design position, allowing me to continue raising Ezra at home. This was no easy decision but one that allowed me to accept taking on work when I was ready to do so.
The night before I was to make my decision known I had a vivid dream and Lior Interiors was to be my own stamp in the design industry.
I took a leap of faith and within a matter of weeks I was approached to take on The Fresh Federation House, which formed the foundations of the business.
Being the first project for the business we hit the ground running and learnt so much along the way. Covid threw us plenty of curve balls with trade and product supply issues as well as lead times being thrown right out the window, yet we couldn't let it distract us from having the opportunity to breathe fresh life and light into this wonderful family home. I had to keep pinching myself that this size project would be what launched the business. Many-many hours were spent on and off site, working away on the project, that I always said I felt like I was leaving a piece of myself in the home. What I bring through my character and design skill allows me to leave a piece of my light in the home.
Soon after we started wrapping up and installing the finishing touches into The Fresh Federation House I found out that I was pregnant with our second son. While photographing and handing over, I was 18 weeks pregnant with our son Levi, the second light of our lives.
