White Wonders

Enhanced by leafy surrounds, these White Wonders certainly radiate street appeal!

The choice to go white, for some is an easy decision, for others daunting, but either way it packs a punch! Anyone who has graced the aisles of a paint shop knows just how many white options you are faced with. One thing I keep in mind is 'how will this age?' It's better to go with a crisp white than a creamy white. This will hold its appeal for much longer, giving that real wow moment from the street. These two beautiful Brisbane homes have been carefully designed by Lior Interiors.

The Fresh Federation House in Ascot is nestled amongst a leafy street, lined with terracotta tile rooflines. The 1930's home used to be a bold red with an abundance of black trimmings, so the choice to go all white wasn't hard. This old girl needed to be pampered and freshened up. I did however make the decision to keep the black trim on the gutters, handrails and stair treads. This created a visual break point and, in my mind, makes the home stand out amongst the other entirely white neighbouring homes. This also ties in with some of the interior finishes as well.

The other home we worked on is a raised and renovated post-war home in Kedron. At the time it was one of the few modified homes in the area, so no matter what colour we chose this home was destined to be the talk of the town. Maintaining the character of the front façade was crucial. Whether you are simply updating the paint or completely renovating, pay respect to the home's heritage and legacy.

Paint sources: The Fresh Federation House has been painted in Dulux Lexicon and The Kedron House has been painted in Deluxe Vivid White.
