Designed to Evoke Emotion

Design is much more than aesthetic, function and form, it brings life to a space, creating communication and emotion.

Design evokes emotion, and emotion is what drives all of us in our day to day!

Entering a space, our body is hardwired to feel a certain way which can leave a positive or negative impact on our experience in the room. I always strive to design spaces that evoke peace, calm, warmth, relaxation and sophistication. As someone with small children, I know first hand that your home needs to be able grow and evolve with you, and with that I always ask…. how do you want to feel in the space? Because that is a completely different question to how do you want the space to look, and in fact, it might even be a more important question.

As a designer I will layer colours, textures, shapes, and tones to convey a feeling or a mood, and this will evoke an emotional response, which is pleasing to the eye and therefore creates a sense of harmony.

A room should feel collected and gathered, not designed or styled.
